As we look to the future, our goal is the same as it has always been - to serve our community, spreading the gospel to as many as we can and baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
In 1996, we formally adopted Matthew 28:19-20 as the basis for our mission statement:
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age, Amen.
Implementing the principles in that great commission, it is the purpose of the Snellville church to give glory to God through worship, edification, service and evangelism. He has richly blessed His work in this place for twenty-five years now. We can claim only to have been His faithful vessels for ministry. We believe that, as we remain faithful to Him, we will continue to enjoy His blessings.
We believe that, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe that Jesus Christ is, "...the way, the truth, and the life." (John 14:6) and that no one comes to God except through Christ.
We believe that God has set in place a plan of salvation through which all of mankind has the opportunity to receive the forgiveness for their sins:
- One first hears the Gospel of Christ - Romans 10:17
- Then one must believe that Christ is the Son of God - Hebrews 11:6
- Then one must repent of and turn away from his or her sins. - Acts 2:38
- Then one must confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. - Romans 10:9
- Then one must be baptized for the remission of sins in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. - Acts 2:38
- Then one must continue in obedience towards God. - Romans 6:1-4
