Steps To Maturity Short term goal:
“Help teens discover their own faith.” Long term goal:
“Teen lead youth group.” 4 Levels Of Maturity1st Base: “Connect”
Perspective visitor- Anyone within a realistic driving
distance of the church building. ·
Visitor-
Anyone that attends a class, worship, or event of the youth group. ·
Goal-
Have each member and visitor connect with teens and adults and see us as family. 2nd Base: “Grow”·
Habits-
Establishing daily spiritual habits of prayer, Bible
reading, and scripture memorization to grow in their love and knowledge of the
Lord. ·
Small
group study- In-depth Bible study to help them to
both grow in knowledge of the Lord and connect with other teens and adults. 3rd Base: “Service/Ministry”
Help each teen to develop their own ministry or way to serve God, by
using their own unique talents and passions. Home Plate: “Leadership”
Teens
will lead the group by helping plan, organize and run events.
Work with leaders to develop a, “long term vision,” for a more
effective youth ministry. Have an
understanding of and display evangelism with friends and visitors, while running
their own ministry. Requirements to reach the two leadership
levels: 1.
Service/Ministry

Two
30-day prayer journals ·
Two
30-day Bible reading journal ·
Ten
sets of scriptures ·
Two
quarters of small group Bible Study ·
A
questionnaire about their faith ·
Application
(with responsibilities) ·
Parent’s
application. 2.
Leadership
Level: ·
Run
and maintain a successful service/ministry for two quarters ·
Maintain
spiritual habits: o
A 30-day prayer and Bible reading
journals every 60 days o
Memorize five sets of scriptures
every 60 days o
Minimum of two quarters of small
group Bible study a year o
Complete an application for the
leadership level & 3 references o
Parents application for the
leadership level ·
Assist
youth minister, deacons, and leaders in selecting, planning, and running events
and a vision for the future. ·
Wash
